famaRobert R. McCormick Distinguished Service Professor of Finance

The Robert R. McCormick Distinguished Service Professor of Finance at the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago, Professor Fama holds a bachelors degree from Tufts University, and an MBA and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Dimensional Fund Advisors, Inc. Widely recognized as the "father of modern finance," and a prolific author and researcher, he has received numerous awards and honors, among them: the Chaire Francqui (Belgian National Science Prize), and honorary law degrees from the University of Rochester and DePaul University.

 

diamond Merton H. Miller Distinguished Service Professor of Finance

Merton H. Miller Distinguished Service Professor of Finance, Douglas Diamond holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Brown University, and a M.A., M. Phil., and Ph.D. in economics from Yale University. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the American Finance Association. Professor Diamond has also served as president of the Western Finance Association, and as an academic consultant to the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and the Federal Reserve Board.  He is an authority on financial crises, financial intermediaries, and banking regulation.

kaplanNeubauer Family Professor of Entrepreneurship and Finance

Steve Kaplan has been a professor at the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business since 1988. Professor Kaplan holds a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics and economics from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in business economics from Harvard University. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Morningstar, Inc., and on the Board of Trustees of the Columbia Acorn Funds. Professor Kaplan is an authority on venture capital, corporate governance, private equity, entrepreneurial finance, corporate control,
e-commerce, and corporate finance.

Professor of Finance


John Cochrane has been a professor at the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business since 1991. Professor Cochrane holds a bachelor's degree in physics from M.I.T. and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California at Berkeley. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the American Finance Association. Professor Cochrane is an authority on finance, macroeconomics, and monetary economics.

of Finance


Joseph L. Gidwitz Professor of Finance, John Heaton holds a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Windsor, a M.A. in economics from the University of Western Ontario, and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago. Professor Heaton is an authority on asset pricing, portfolio allocation, and time-series econometrics.

Fuji Bank and Heller Professor of Accounting and Finance and Deputy Dean for Faculty, Professor Leftwich holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Queensland, a M.S. in applied economics, and Ph. D. in applied economics and finance from the University of Rochester. He is an authority on audit qualifications, bond ratings, corporate charter changes, and block trades.

Tobias Moskowitz has been a professor at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business since 1998. Professor Moskowitz holds a bachelor's degree in industrial management/industrial engineering, a M.S. in management from Purdue University, and a Ph.D. in finance from the University of California at Los Angeles. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the AIM Holding Company, LLC, Mercer Global Advisors, and the Western Finance Association and Society of Financial Studies. Professor Moskowitz is an authority on empirical asset pricing, investment anomalies, performance evaluation, behavioral finance, sports betting, real estate, and private equity.

frazziniAssistant Professor of Finance

Andrea Frazzini has a bachelor's degree in economics from University of Rome, a M.S. in economics from the London School of Economics, and a Ph.D. from Yale University. He also serves as a consultant for DKR Capital Partners LP. He is an authority on behavioral finance, asset pricing, and investment management.
